Produce prescriptions are designed to support food security and health by providing access to fruits and vegetables, a critical component of managing diet-related chronic disease.
Vouchers 4 Veggies is a retail-based produce prescription program that provides eligible participants with restricted-spend cards to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at participating retail locations. The benefit amount ranges from $40-$150 per month and is designed to support increased fruit and vegetable consumption.
Participants can use their Vouchers 4 Veggies card at over 30,000 grocery stores nationally, including Safeway, Albertsons, Kroger, Vons, Ralphs, Dollar General, Walmart and select independent grocers. Participants may also utilize delivery options available through Instacart and Walmart.com. This large network allows participants to shop where they live and work.
